Eileen Gray (1878–1976), an Irish architect and furniture designer, was a pioneer of the modern design movement. This elegant depiction of her latter life and work in France focuses on the conflicting interests of Gray (Orla Brady), Badovici (Francesco Scianna), and Le Corbusier (Vincent Perez). Alanis Morrissette also appears as Marisa Damia, Gray's second lover, with Dominique Pinon (Delicatessen, Amélie) as Fernand Léger, the artist.
