The story concerns two mountain men -- Henry Frapp and Bill Tyler -- throughout the dying days of the fur-trapping era. The storyline begins when Running Moon comes over both seedy fur trappers and runs off from her husband Heavy Eagle. The mountain men simply take her in, unaware that Heavy Eagle has dispatched an army of Indian braves to regain her.
