The series marked the resurrection of this franchise because a Saturday morning cartoon on Fox's Fox Box programming block The TMNT 2003 TV series was produced by 4Kids Entertainment, and Mirage Studios, that each possessed half of the rights to the series, and revived by Dong Woo Animation. Reruns ran on Cartoon Network's Miguzi block. After the contract with Fox of 4Kids ended the series migrated to The CW4Kids at its season. The rights are currently owned by nickelodeon to some other prospective Turtles series.
