Captured by smugglers when he had been a hatchling, a macaw called Blu never learned to fly and resides a happily domesticated lifetime in Minnesota. Blu is considered to function as the last of his own kind, however when word comes that a female, Jewel, resides in Rio de Janeiro, Linda and Blu visit meet with her. Animal smugglers kidnap Jewel and Blu, however the couple soon escape and begin Linda -- and even a perilous adventure back again to freedom.
