In the Warring States Period of Early China (475-221 BCE), Shin and Hyou are war-orphans from the kingdom of Qin. They dream of one proving themselves. One afternoon Hyou has been carried to the palace with a ministry. Winding up on the side of a power-struggle, Hyou manages to come back to the village, barely alive.
