Raoul Duke and his attorney Dr. Gonzo drive a red convertible across the Mojave desert to Las Vegas with a bag full of drugs to pay for a bicycle race. As their ingestion of drugs increases at an alarming pace, the duo that is benign trash their hotel room and fear legal repercussions. Duke begins to drive back again to L.A., but after a strange run-in with a cop, then he returns into las vegas and continues his uncontrolled drug binge.
