A young Jinhee is placed in an orphanage in the vicinity of Seoul by her father. He abandons her there, never to return, and she fights a losing battle to accept what will become of her. Jinhee hasn't given up hope that her father will come back for her and take her on a trip just yet. The director, who is of Korean ethnicity and was adopted by a French couple in the 1970s, uses his own life as a basis for the narrative of this film.
