Antonio Gaudí
Some of the world's most amazing buildings, interiors, and parks were created by Catalan architect Antoni Gaud (1852-1926); some of the world's most aesthetically bold films were made by Japanese director Hiroshi Teshigahara throughout the second half of the twentieth century. A unique and fascinating cinematic experience is created when their talents come together. Antoni Gaud, directed by Teshigahara, is less of a documentary than it is a visual poem, taking viewers on a tour of some of the world's most spectacular buildings, including Gaud's huge, still-unfinished masterwork, the Sagrada Familia cathedral in Barcelona. Teshigahara captures Gaud's organic surfaces on film using camerawork that is as strong and sensual as the curves on his subject's organic surfaces. - Less
